Emelie Benden
Emelie Benden is a 19-year-old musician from Germany. She believes in the great power of music and art and the need for humans to express their feelings through it. She wants to touch people's hearts, connect them, and encourage them to be themselves with a smile on their faces.
Emelie always wanted to do art and her dream to become a singer became increasingly serious while growing up. On her 13th birthday, her parents gifted her with a microphone, a music production program, and an audio interface. Not really knowing what to do with it, she first discovered the possibilities of these things one year later and wrote and produced her first songs at 14 years old. Her piano lessons since the age of 5 and tutorials about production helped her to become a true producer over the years, all by herself. With 18 years she published her first self-made album ''The Happy Period'', writing about her feelings during a hard time she had back then. The title might seem not to fit the topic, but after a few turbulent years, she doesn't want to be sad anymore and decided to hold on to what makes her happy.
When she graduated from high school, she focused on her music and became better and better at what she does. Then 2 days before her 19th Birthday, she published the single ''Shout My Name''. Two months later she published her second mini album ''What I Wanna Do'' - 100% self-made as well. The album is about her dreams, her wishes for her and other young people, and also about experiences she had in her teenage years.
Something she wants to tell other young people is: ''Never lose your smile''.
